EDB Insights: Practising what we preach, disability and inclusion – Book now
On Wednesday 20 April we’re welcoming Dr Wendy Bryant, Honorary Professor in the School of Health and Social Care, at the University of Essex, to speak to us and the occupational therapy community.

This event is part of our EDB Insights series, where we’ve invited people to talk about the topics of equity, diversity and belonging, so we can all reflect and use the lessons learned in our practices.
Dr Bryant will be speaking about particular challenges that face disabled occupational therapists. And will take a series of different perspectives, revisiting disability theory, professionalism, two body practice, pragmatic reasoning and occupational form.
‘If we are working with disabled colleagues, it may challenge our professional practices by questioning assumptions about our power and capacities’.
ABLE OTUK, a UK occupational therapy network/advocacy group for practitioners, students, researchers, educators and people with disabilities/long term health conditions, has been working with Dr Bryant to develop a workshop that will follow her presentation. In this workshop there will be a panel discussion and you will be able to share your questions and reflections with Dr Bryant and key members of AbleOT UK.
We’re looking forward to hearing from Dr Wendy Bryant and would love for you to join us.
Find out more about the event and book your ticket.
A recording will be available to members after the event.
If you’re like us and would like to plan ahead, see our other upcoming EDB Insights events.
