We are pleased to announce that the College of Occupational Therapists’ 2017 Annual Conference has received the highest number of abstract submissions in recent memory! Over 370 were submitted with the authors able to use exciting new categories to define and target their abstracts:
- Interactive journal club - share a critical appraisal of published work
- Critical discourse - opinion and theoretical based to challenge current thinking and introduce new perspective
- Occupation station - practical demonstration of an occupation and reflection on its use as a therapeutic tool
- Research - completed or ongoing research with data findings and analysis
- Practice development - clinical and management practice that has had a measurable impact.
What Now?
The next stage is having the abstracts peer reviewed by some of the leading lights of the occupational therapy profession. The successful abstracts will be compiled into the Conference programme and this will be published at the end of March.
We hope the new categories and the increased submissions will ensure a rich and diverse conference programme that will attract anyone passionate about the occupational therapy profession.
The Conference programme itself has been condensed into two days, making it not only a time efficient professional development event, but also extremely cost effective, as the special discounted rate for COT members, makes it the cheapest conference registration since 2003. COT members can attend the full conference for just £269* - a 50% discount off the standard rate. COT Students, Fellows and Retired Members only pay £49for a full conference ticket.
*Only available up to 8 May 2017 and where full payment is made.
