Future OT marketing strategy
We’re developing a marketing strategy to inspire future generations of occupational therapists. The strategy will set out how we can take individuals from the early stages of awareness, through to converting interest into university applications. It will look at school students, graduates, career changers and their influencers, as well as underrepresented groups.
How will we do this?
It begins with a comprehensive audience analysis, drawing insights from students, apprentices and practising occupational therapists, as well as those who influenced their career decisions. We will conduct desk research, workshops and surveys to gather valuable data on career trends.
Career roadmap
A key element of our strategy involves creating a career roadmap that sets out the different decision-making steps and ways to engage individuals and groups. This roadmap will be informed by research, focus groups and interviews with our target audiences, including career advisors, ensuring we identify the most effective ways to engage future occupational therapists.

Why are we doing this?
We’re committed to increasing university applications and diversifying the occupational therapy workforce. Our marketing strategy will set out how we can do this from raising awareness to driving action of university applications. It will be supported by a prioritised plan for how we could deliver on the strategy.
