The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Dissemination Centre is looking to develop a collection of NIHR Signals (short summaries of recent research) about depression in adults. They are looking for an experienced occupational therapist, who works in a community mental health service, to contribute.

NIHR Signals provide decision makers in the NHS, public health and social care with the latest important research from the NIHR and other health research organisations. Signals explain why the study was needed, what the researchers did, what the study found, how this relates to current guidelines and what the implications are of the findings. They are accompanied by commentary from experts in their field, researchers and those working in practice.
The Dissemination Centre is seeking an occupational therapist to:
- Browse the Signals on the NIHR Disseminations Centre’s Discover portal;
- Select two to four Signals of relevance to depression in adults;
- Write a short commentary about each of these Signals by Friday 11 October.
The 'My Signals' collection about depression in adults would join existing collections, including My Signals: Public Health and My Signals: Patients. This is a great continuing professional development activity, and your chance to offer an occupational therapy perspective to a mental health-focused resource.
