The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) is calling on its members to feed into its response to National Care Service Consultation in Scotland.
Described as ‘the biggest piece of public sector reform since the devolution’, the consultation looks at the way care is delivered and could have a profound impact on all occupational therapists working across Scotland.
It’s imperative the views of all our members in Scotland are heard. RCOT’s Regional Committees are facilitating meetings for members working in health, care, and the third sector to meet with Alison Keir, Professional Practice Lead in Scotland, to have their comments included in the response.
RCOT are holding several events that will:
- discuss the content of the National Care Service consultation,
- input your comments and views for inclusion in the RCOT response, and
- gather comments and views from members.
The events are online and are free to attend. The next ones will take place on Tuesday 28 September at 18:00 - 20:00 (on Zoom) and on Thursday 7 October at 15:00 - 17:00 (on Microsoft Teams).
For more details about the events and how to sign up, visit our events page.
Commenting on the consultation, Alison Keir said:
“This consultation could lead to the biggest shake up of healthcare in Scotland since the introduction of the NHS. It is really important that we hear views from as many occupational therapists working in Scotland as possible, this will help us shape our response to this crucial piece of work. I encourage as many of our members as possible to sign up and get involved.”
If you are unable to attend the events and would like to feedback to RCOT, please send your comments to alison.keir@rcot.co.uk
