Since first being established in 2021, the RCOT Carnduff Learner Forum has evolved and will now become the RCOT Carnduff Learner Peer Group (RCLPG).
This is in response to the ambition for RCOT members to shape and drive the delivery of our strategic priorities by expanding the range of opportunities and creating more flexible, accessible and inclusive ways to engage and work with RCOT. Learners belonging to this peer group have a valued role in the RCOT plan and are part of the RCOT advisory groups.

You can visit our RCLPG webpage to find all the details about the group, including how to join and the different Workforce Advisory Groups that the RCLPG will feed into.
Joining the peer group is a great career development opportunity, a chance to network with your community and an opportunity to add your learner’s perspective to our Workforce Strategy.
The RCOT Carnduff Learner Peer Group has been made possible because of a £10,000 legacy left by Ann Carnduff, Head of the Glasgow Occupational Therapy school, to support occupational therapy students and apprenticeships.
Attending the RCOT Carnduff Learner Development Day was a truly enriching experience—more than I could have hoped for. Being there in person and feeling so welcomed and valued made it all the more special. Discussing current challenges in practice and gaining insights into the health priorities of the new government was incredibly insightful. From exploring leadership styles and driving meaningful change to having an in-person demonstration of the CPD tool, the day left me feeling more confident and equipped. Meeting various members of the RCOT team and connecting with attendees from across the country made it an absolutely lovely and inspiring day.
The Carnduff Learners Development day was so valuable, in bringing together Occupational Therapy learners from across the UK, to learn, share ideas and network, I feel part of the bigger picture and excited about the future of the profession. All of the speakers were informative and inspiring, sharing their expertise and knowledge to support us in our journeys to becoming Occupational Therapists
Participating in the Carnduff Learners Forum and spending a day at the RCOT head office alongside like-minded individuals has been an empowering experience, both as a learner and a professional. Listening to the expert insights of Karin, Dai, Joe, Emma, and Daniel on all aspects of occupational therapy was truly inspiring. Their knowledge and passion were a privilege to witness and have sparked ideas and aspirations for my future career.
