Member Insights Panel

The Member Insights Panel is an exciting opportunity for members to engage with us, making your voices heard and helping us to better support you. Invitation emails containing the link to express your interest will be sent to members throughout October 2024.

What is the Member Insights Panel?

This new initiative will allow members to provide valuable feedback, share opinions and take part in surveys that’ll support and influence our future decision making. Panel members will contribute to our continued service improvements and delivery for all stages of membership.

Why join the Member Insights Panel?

Shape the future: Your insights will influence decision making and support new initiatives, helping us better cater to your needs and preferences.

Be heard: This is your chance to voice your opinions on key issues and ideas that impact occupational therapists and support workers.

Exclusive engagement: Take part in unique opportunities to provide feedback and contribute to meaningful discussions.

Member Benefit: Your feedback will be used to make membership better for all.

As part of this work, we will ask for your insights and feedback to support us in areas such as:

  • improving the RCOT website and your wider digital experience across different platforms.
  • making sure we provide members with the right member benefits.
  • connecting with more occupational therapists, assistants, support workers and students.

Important information

We’re aiming to make the Panel a representative sample of the wider membership, based on the different types of membership categories we offer. Spaces are limited and not guaranteed as a result of completing the form.  We will regularly review Panel membership and make sure that all members are given the opportunity to take part.

We’re aiming to send you on average two quick and easy requests per month.

Any data you provide us will be treated in accordance with our data privacy policy. In the future, we may ask you to voluntarily provide us with some extra data, such as demographic and employment details, to ensure that the Panel is an inclusive representation of the wider membership. This data will be stored securely and will not be used for any purposes outside of the Panel.

Please check the FAQs below for further information. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please email panelenquiries@rcot.co.uk.

 Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Member Insights Panel?

The Member Insights Panel is a group of members who provide regular feedback on various topics – helping us further improve our services and better meet the needs of our members.

Participation

How often will I be asked to provide feedback?

We will request your feedback on average two times a month. It’s likely to be a short survey that should take no more than a few minutes to complete.

What is expected of me as a panel member?

As a panel member, we’d like you to take part in surveys, provide your honest feedback, and share your opinions on various topics. Your insights are valuable and help shape the future of our services.

Is there a minimum time commitment required?

There is no strict time commitment required. We aim to keep each feedback request brief, approximately two short pieces per month. Taking part is voluntary, and you don’t have to respond to every invite you get (details on specific requests will be sent as and when). Some requests for feedback will only be sent to specific members of the Panel, for example just our Student members.

Data Protection

How will my data be used?

Your data will be used solely for the purpose of gathering feedback and insights to improve our offering and services. All information provided will be kept confidential and will be used in accordance with our privacy policy.

Will my responses be anonymous?

Not necessarily. Some requests for feedback will require us to cross-reference against the information you have provided us, such as your region, the position you hold and some of your demographic data. If a request for feedback will not be anonymised, we’ll make this clear to you . We’ll always combine responses and any published results, internally or externally, will not include any personal or identifiable details.

We may also reach out to a small sub-set of the Panel to conduct in-depth interviews/focus groups, where anonymity will not be possible. Iin these circumstances, you will be fully briefed if you decide you would like to take part. Personal or identifiable details will never be published.

How is my data protected?

We take data protection seriously. All data is stored securely and handled in compliance with our data protection and privacy policy. For more details, please refer to our privacy policy.

Withdrawal

Can I withdraw from the panel at any time?

Yes, you can leave the Panel at any time. Simply contact us at panelenquiries@rcot.co.uk to let us know. You don’t have to give a reason why, but you will be provided the opportunity to do so.

What happens to my data if I withdraw?

If you leave the Panel, your participation will cease, and you will receive confirmation of this. Any data already collected may still be used, however, your records will be updated, and we won’t send you any further requests.

Benefits and Incentives

Are there any incentives for participating?

As a token of our appreciation, Panel members may be entered into draws for gift cards or other rewards. Participation in these draws is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the draw details.

What are the benefits of being a panel member?

As a Panel member, you have the opportunity to influence the overall membership experience, supporting yourselves and fellow members. Your feedback may help shape future initiatives and ensure that we meet the needs of all members effectively.
