Our transformation

To meet our ambitions for occupational therapy we need to be bold in transforming our member offer to respond to growing needs and opportunities for the profession and its people.   This spring we'll take the first step towards improving your member benefits and digital experiences.

Listening to our members   

Many of you took part in our member research, sharing your views and experiences with us. We've listened and learnt that you want to be able to access resources, information, events and networks relevant to your location, professional development needs and areas of interest. And you're looking for more tailored content and insight from your professional body. 

We’ve used this insight to identify ways to use technology to improve your member benefits, give you better access to your benefits and services and modernise and refresh the way we interact, communicate, connect and collaborate.

Our plans for the future  

This spring, we'll take the first step to improve your digital experiences so you can get more from your membership. You’ll have new member benefits and improved digital services all included in your RCOT membership and they'll be more accessible and relevant for your busy lives.  It will be easier to access our services through our new website, whether you use a desktop, tablet or mobile.

Our digital improvements are driven by members’ feedback and mean, over time, we’ll be able offer you more personalised content and experiences based on your needs, interests and preferences.

What do we mean by digital experiences?

Digital experiences refer to the use of technology-based systems, processes, communications and tools, for example:

  • your experience of using our website to find resources or book an event
  • your experiences of connecting and collaborating through our community engagement platform RCOT Communities
  • your ability to update your member record online and set your preferences through the member portal.

Why do we need to improve digital experiences?

To meet our ambitions for occupational therapy we need to be bold in transforming our member offer and respond to growing needs and opportunities for the profession and its people.   We’ve listened to our members and learnt that you want to access resources, information, events and networks relevant to your location, professional development needs and areas of interest. We’ve used this insight to transform your digital experience and improve our benefits to support and strengthen our occupational therapy community.   We’re using technology to give you better access to your benefits and services and to modernise and refresh the way we interact, communicate, connect and collaborate.  

What benefits will members see as a result?

By improving your member benefits and digital experiences we'll be making your membership work better for you. Over time you'll:

  • receive more personalised content where resources, events, and updates match your needs and interests 
  • be able to update your details and manage your preferences in one place from your desktop, tablet or mobile
  • make stronger connections and receive peer-to-peer support by meeting and collaborating with other occupational therapists in a way that works for you.
