Re-registering your website account

We made some changes on the RCOT website in 2021 which changed our members' portal. 

To access the portal and member-exclusive webpages, you will need to register a new website account – here’s a short video on how to do this, plus instructions below.

The details you used before to log into our website prior to 2021 will no longer work.

How to register

It only takes a few minutes to register for your new website account.

1. Go to the portal registration page.

2. You will see a form called ‘Register an account’ – fill in the form with your details and RCOT membership number (starting with BT and no spaces).
(Your membership number will have seven or eight numerals after BT)

You will need to register with the same email address which you use for your RCOT membership.

Also, please include your middle name (if you have one) in the First Name field of the form.

If you don’t know/ can't remember which email address you use for your RCOT membership, please email the membership team with your BT number.

 

3. Click ‘Register’.

 

4. You will then receive an email from us with an activation link. Please check your spam and junk folders as well. Make sure you click this link.

Your account registration will be complete only after clicking this activation link.

When you are on a member-only webpage for the first time, you will have to click on the Login button on the top right of the page once more to ensure you are logged in as a member.

FAQs about the website updates

Why do I need to register for a new website account?
We've launched a new look members portal (portal.rcot.co.uk) on our website. This will make interacting with us online easier. You can get quick access to key documents, your member logo and OTnews. You can now join Specialist Sections and clinical forums online. Other features include updating your personal details and adding a second mailing address and workplace.

This requires a new system which means members need to register for a new account. Registration only takes a few minutes and after you’ve activated your account, you can start using the new look member area and member-exclusive content on the website.  

 

How do I register for a new website account?
Registering for your new website account only takes a few minutes. Once you’ve clicked the link in the activation email, you can log into your new account and access the member-exclusive content.

1. Go to the My RCOT portal registration page.

2. You will see a form called ‘Create an account’ – fill in the form with your details and RCOT membership number.

You will need to register with the same email address you use for your RCOT membership.

If you don’t know which email address you use for your RCOT membership, please fill out this form..

3. Click ‘Register’.

4. You will then receive an email from us with an activation link. Make sure you click this link – this finishes your registration.

Once you’ve activated your account, you can log in and access the new My RCOT portal and member-exclusive website pages.

When you are on a webpage for the first time, you will have to click on the Login button on the top right of the page once more to ensure you are logged in.

 

What is new about the new look member area?
With the new look members portal on our website, we’re making it easier to manage your account and interact with us online.

You can get quick access to key documents, your new member logo and OTnews. You can now join Specialist Sections and clinical forums online. Other new features include updating your personal details and adding a second mailing address and workplace.

 

Will my previous password work?
No, the login details and password you have used to log into the website before will no longer work. You will need to create a new website account with the same email address that you use for your RCOT membership and a new password.

 

I can’t remember what email address I use for my RCOT membership – what should I do?
You can email the web team at digital.team@rcot.co.uk who will let you know which email address to use.

 

I don’t have a website account – can I still register for the new member area?
Yes! You don’t need to have had a website account before to register for one after Thursday 18 November.

 

I’ve received an email from RCOT asking me to register for a new website account – is this real?
Yes – from March, we’re emailing members who haven’t registered for a new website account, with support to do so. If you’re unsure, you can register for your new account via the RCOT homepage.

 

I want to access a member-exclusive webpage – do I need to register for a new website account?
Yes, you will need to register for a new website account so you can access member-exclusive webpages.
Registration only takes a few minutes and will let you interact with us online more easily.

 

I’m a member of a Specialist Section – what does registration mean for my membership?
You will now be able to see and manage your RCOT and Specialist Section memberships in one place. You can also now join other Specialist Sections and clinical forums online.

When you’re logged into your new website account, you can access the member-exclusive content for your Specialist Section.  

 

I’ve registered for a new account but can’t log in – what should I do?
After you have registered for your new account, you will receive an activation email. You will need to click the link in this email to activate your new account and then be able to log into it.

If you still can’t log into your account after clicking the activation link, please email digital.team@rcot.co.uk.  

 

I’ve followed these FAQs and I’m still having issues with registering and / or accessing my new account – what should I do?
