‘Congratulations to our members who join us on Council from today and thank you for stepping up and volunteering to support our profession. We were delighted to have had so many members putting themselves forward for Council positions this year and thank everyone who voted in the elections. We look forward to the fresh perspective, new ideas, challenge and expertise our new Council members will bring.
‘Council plays a vital role in safeguarding our profession for future generations of occupational therapists and we have an ambitious task ahead of us to ensure RCOT is the strongest advocate and champion for our members. I am excited to see what we can collectively deliver for our members as we continue to grow and develop the profession.
‘I would also like to thank Samantha Flower, Dr Kee Hean Lim, Kamilah Ibrahiim and Andrea Lothian for their commitment, passion and the invaluable experience they brought to Council as they come to the end of their terms. We are stronger for it, and we wish you the best of luck for your future endeavors.’
Council is the Board of Directors and Trustees of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and the British Association of Occupational Therapists. It’s made up of occupational therapy members who are elected by a ballot of BAOT members to govern, make decisions for BAOT and RCOT and represent the views of our 36,000 strong membership.
At the AGM, members also voted to re-appoint the auditors and for the resolution to change the BAOT Articles of Association as set out in our governance review.
